The mystery at the heart of faith
God is one, yet exists eternally in three distinct persons—Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is not three gods, nor one God taking different forms at different times. He is one in essence and three in personhood.
This truth runs through Scripture: the Father creates and sustains, the Son reveals and redeems, and the Spirit makes God's presence known within believers.
Why the Trinity matters
The Trinity shapes the whole Christian life. We pray to the Father, through the Son, by the Spirit. We encounter perfect unity, love and purpose—and we are invited into relationship with a God who is personal, powerful and present.
